1872 River House is a Guest House in Ribeira do Porto, located right in front of the Douro River. It is aimed at travelers who like to be immersed in history and who want to enjoy a view as privileged as it is breathtaking over the river currents and the oldest streets of the city.
Within walking distance, you can visit the main attractions of Porto, such as the engineer Théophile Seyrig’s bridge – Luís I Bridge, São Francisco Church, Palácio da Bolsa, Livraria Lello and Torre dos Clérigos.
The entire Ribeira area offers a wide variety of restaurants and terraces, as well as a complete transport network that connects the different points of the city of Porto. At dusk, you can enjoy all the comfort of our lobby while enjoying a glass of wine accompanied by a unique view of the traditional Rabelo boats sailing through the waters of the Douro.

It is an excellent starting point for those who like to explore the city on foot, during the day, and fall asleep contemplating the view over the Douro River.
The decor of the 1872 River House proudly displays traditional architectural features, with individual details in each room. Stone or tiled walls and an imposing fireplace turned into a headboard are some examples of what you can find.
All rooms have a private bathroom with vintage decor.
Breakfast is always included, offering a wide selection of bakery and pastries, most of which are homemade. It is served in our living room, with a beautiful view over the Douro.
